How to use this Vinted postage calculator

Select the weight band that matches your parcel and the calculator will show you every available Vinted carrier option at that weight, sorted by price. This lets you quickly identify the cheapest option for your parcel size.

If you are unsure of your parcel's weight, weigh it on kitchen scales before listing. Include the item, packaging, and any protective materials. The weight of the parcel - not just the item - determines which shipping options are available.

Important: These postage prices are what buyers pay when they select Vinted integrated shipping at checkout. As a seller, you pay nothing for the shipping label - it is fully covered by the buyer. This calculator is most useful for:

  • Buyers comparing postage costs before committing to a purchase
  • Sellers who are self-shipping (using their own label) and need to know what postage will cost them
  • Sellers trying to understand which carriers their buyers are most likely to choose

How Vinted postage works

Vinted uses an integrated shipping system where the buyer selects and pays for postage at checkout. Once payment is complete, the seller receives a prepaid shipping label in their Vinted inbox - you simply print it (or use the QR code at the drop-off point) and send the parcel.

As a seller, you pay nothing for the postage label. This is one of Vinted's biggest structural advantages over platforms like eBay, where sellers typically include postage costs in their price or charge separately.

The carriers available include Evri, InPost, Yodel, Relay, Royal Mail, DPD, DHL and AnyVan for large items. The buyer chooses from the options you have enabled in your Vinted settings. Vinted recommends enabling all available carriers to maximise your buyer's options - more choice often means faster sales.

InPost: the cheapest option for small parcels

InPost Locker-to-Locker starts at £1.99 and is consistently the cheapest option for small clothing items under 2kg. The catch: both you and the buyer need access to an InPost locker. InPost has expanded rapidly across the UK and now has thousands of locker locations, but coverage outside cities is still patchy. If you live near an InPost, enable it - buyers love the convenience of locker collection.

Evri: the most popular choice

Evri ParcelShop is the most commonly used carrier on Vinted UK because of its broad drop-off network (corner shops, supermarkets, newsagents) and competitive pricing from £2.62. The Evri network is genuinely vast - most UK sellers will have a ParcelShop within a short walk. For most standard Vinted sales (a jumper, a pair of jeans, some trainers), Evri is the default choice.

Royal Mail: best for valuable or fragile items

Royal Mail is more expensive than Evri or InPost but offers the highest consumer trust and is ideal for higher-value items or anything fragile. If you are selling a £150 designer bag or a piece of vintage glassware, paying a little more for Royal Mail is often worth it for the peace of mind and buyer confidence. Royal Mail also handles claims more smoothly for lost parcels, in the experience of many UK sellers.

Vinted postage tips for sellers

Enable all carriers in your settings

Vinted allows you to enable or disable specific carriers in your account settings. Enabling all available carriers maximises your buyer's choice and removes a potential barrier to purchase. Some buyers strongly prefer InPost; others want Royal Mail. If you only have two carriers enabled, you might lose sales from buyers who prefer the ones you have switched off.

Weigh items before listing

The carrier options available to buyers are determined partly by the parcel weight you set when listing. If you set the wrong weight band, buyers might see more expensive options than necessary - or worse, you might receive a label for a weight band that does not accommodate your actual parcel. Weigh items on kitchen scales and round up slightly to the nearest 100g.

Send within 5 business days

Once an order is placed, Vinted expects sellers to drop off the parcel within 5 business days. If you fail to send in time, the order may be automatically cancelled and this impacts your seller rating. If life gets in the way, use Vinted's messaging system to let the buyer know and agree a slightly extended timeline - most buyers are accommodating if you communicate proactively.

Never use your own label for integrated shipping orders

If a buyer has paid for Vinted integrated shipping, you must use the Vinted-generated label. You cannot substitute a cheaper label you have bought yourself. Using a different label would remove the buyer protection coverage and could result in a dispute that you lose. The integrated label is sent to your Vinted inbox as a PDF or QR code - print it or scan it at the drop-off point.

Self-shipping? If you are using your own postage label, enter the cost into the Vinted profit calculator to see your true margin after the postage cost.

Packaging your Vinted sales well

Postage price is one thing - how you package the item is equally important for getting five-star reviews and avoiding disputes. Here is a quick guide:

  • Clothing and soft items

A plain white poly mailer is ideal. Size 12×16 inches covers most single clothing items. For bulky knitwear or a stack of T-shirts, go larger. Seal with the adhesive strip and double-fold the top.

  • Shoes and trainers

Use the original box if you have it, or a similarly sized cardboard box. Fill gaps with crumpled newspaper or bubble wrap to prevent movement.

  • Fragile items

Double-box fragile items - place the item in a box, surround with bubble wrap, then place that box inside a larger outer box with padding.

  • Books and rigid items

Book mailers (rigid cardboard envelopes) work well. They give structure and protection without the bulk of a box.
