If you've had a listing sitting unsold for a while, relisting is one of the simplest things you can do to breathe new life into it. It's free, it takes about ten seconds, and when you do it right it genuinely does get your items seen by more buyers. I relist things regularly as part of my normal selling routine and it's made a noticeable difference to how quickly items sell.
Here's everything you need to know about relisting on Vinted.
What Does Relisting Actually Do?
When you relist an item on Vinted, it essentially refreshes your listing in the feed. Vinted's algorithm gives newer listings more visibility - they appear higher in search results and get pushed into buyers' feeds. As your listing ages, it naturally sinks down and gets fewer views.
Relisting resets that clock. It's treated as a new listing from that point, which means it gets the same initial boost that a brand new item would get. That burst of visibility is exactly what you want when something has been sitting unsold.
It does not, however, change your listing URL or delete the item and create a new one. The listing itself stays intact - it's the position and visibility that resets.
Where Is the Relist Button?
Finding the relist option is straightforward:
- Go to your profile and tap on the item you want to relist
- Tap the three dots (more options) in the top right corner
- Select "Relist item"
- Confirm
That's it. The listing goes back to the top of the feed immediately.
On desktop, it's the same process - open the listing, look for the options menu, and select relist.
How Often Should You Relist?
The sweet spot I've found is relisting every two to three days. If you relist too frequently - like every single day - the effect seems to diminish and it can come across as a bit spammy to repeat buyers who see your items constantly cycling back to the top.
Every two to three days means your items stay reasonably visible without you burning through your free relist allowance (Vinted does limit how often you can relist the same item, though the exact limit isn't published and it varies).
For items I'm keen to shift, I'll relist twice a week. For things I'm not in a rush on, once a week is plenty.
Relisting vs Bumping - What's the Difference?
This is one of the most common questions I see from newer sellers, and it's worth being clear about.
Relisting is free. It refreshes your listing in the feed and search results. You can do it regularly as part of your normal routine.
Bumping costs money. When you bump an item, Vinted charges you a fee (which varies depending on the item price and current promotions) and your item gets pushed to the top of search results and featured more prominently. The visibility boost from bumping is generally bigger than from a relist, but you're paying for it.
For most items, I'd recommend trying free relisting first and saving bumps for higher-value things where the cost makes more sense relative to what you stand to earn. I've written a full breakdown of whether bumping is worth the cost separately if you want to dig into that.
What Happens to Your Stats When You Relist?
Here's something a lot of sellers wonder about - and the honest answer is that your view count resets when you relist. The listing appears fresh, so the view counter starts back at zero (or close to it).
This is actually useful information. If your listing had 200 views and zero purchases before you relisted, and after relisting you get another 50 views with still no purchase, that tells you something. The issue probably isn't visibility - it might be the price, the photos, or something about the description.
Likes and favourites from before the relist tend to stay attached to the item, so you don't lose that social proof completely.
Use Relisting as a Chance to Improve the Listing
One of the things I always do when I relist is take the opportunity to tweak something. A relist without any changes is fine, but a relist with an improved listing is even better.
Things worth changing when you relist:
- Drop the price slightly - even £1-2 can make a difference in search filters
- Rewrite the title - try different keywords or a different order
- Update the description - add measurements if you forgot them, or mention something you didn't the first time
- Swap the lead photo - try a different angle or better lighting if you can
I treat relisting as a mini-audit. If something hasn't sold after a few relists, I look at everything again with fresh eyes. What would make me scroll past this? What would make me click?
Which Listings Benefit Most from Relisting?
Not every item needs relisting equally. Here's how I prioritise:
Relist frequently:
- Items that have had views but no purchase (high traffic, low conversion suggests pricing or photo issue)
- Anything priced over £15 where there's real money on the table
- Items that are seasonally relevant right now (coats in autumn, summer dresses in spring)
- Items you've improved since the original listing
Relist occasionally:
- Lower-value items under £5 where the effort-to-return ratio is lower
- Items you're not in a rush to sell
Consider delisting instead:
- Things that have had multiple relists and still no interest - sometimes it's better to pull an item, wait a few months, and relist it fresh in a new season
Building Relisting Into Your Routine
The sellers I know who do well on Vinted don't leave their listings to gather dust. They tend to spend a few minutes a couple of times a week going through older items and relisting them.
I have a rough rule: if something has been live for more than three days without a sale or much activity, it goes back in the queue for a relist. This keeps my whole wardrobe section feeling active and visible.
One practical tip - do your relisting in the evening when buyers are most active (roughly 7-10pm on weeknights). That way your freshly relisted items catch buyers while they're actually browsing.
Relisting is genuinely one of the best free tools Vinted gives sellers. It costs nothing, takes seconds, and consistently gets items in front of new eyes. If you're not doing it already, start today - pick your three oldest unsold listings and relist them now.
